It’s off-season, and Lexi Thompson is still relentless in the gym. If you have been following her for some time, you won’t be surprised. So don’t be surprised if you see a Lexi Thompson fitness app on the App Store or Play Store very soon. No need to worry, the LPGA Pro is not hanging up her golf clubs yet. But she wants to share her workout secrets with you.
The 11-time LPGA Tour winner is a gym rat. Her insane morning workout regimen has left many in awe and trained those who tried. So, a self-proclaimed gym freak, like Lexi Thompson’s future debut in the fitness domain has received unanimous backing from golf fans.
Lexi Thompson wants to moonlight as a fitness instructor
Lexi Thompson expressed her desire to float a fitness app in the near future. The 11-time LPGA Tour winner shared some snippets of her workout captioning, “I’m actually thinking of starting my own fitness app including my workouts that I do on a daily, maybe some golf drills and practice sessions as well. What do you guys think ??”
Fitness has been a great part of Thompson’s life. The 2014 Kraft Nabisco Championship winner has earlier posted many workout videos. In her own words, working out is what is “definitely a passion of mine.”
After missing the cuts at the Shriners Children’s Open, the LPGA Pro admitted she was disappointed, but knowing herself, she would probably hit the gym in the afternoon. Her Instagram feed, in fact, is filled with clips from her daily sessions in the gym.
If Lexi Thompson decides to go ahead with this idea, it would be a first for any LPGA Tour pro. Charley Hull is also known for her love for workouts, however, no one has their own fitness app. Needless to say, her fans and aspiring golfers were thrilled to get this update from Thompson.
Golf fans are already charged about Lexi Thompson’s app idea
One Instagram user felt this would fill the void in golf-related fitness content. Surely, the American pro can offer something unique. “Always looking for golf-oriented workouts from the expert.” Some of her fans requested her to make it accessible to everyone. They feel it would help many aspiring pro golfers. “Great idea but making it accessible to all especially junior golfers would be great!”
Thompson is one of the hard hitters on the female circuit. In fact, she whacked a 316-yard drive at her PGA Tour debut this year. Quite naturally, this fan said, “I would follow that. I would like to increase my golf-related strength and flexibility.”
Another one of her fans has some content suggestions. This user wanted her to team up with some TPI instructors to make it more interesting. “Love the idea. Share the why behind some of the exercises you do for your swing. Maybe team up with a TPI instructor to help bridge your content so the average golfer knows the connection between fitness training, body movement limitations, and the golf swing.”
One user felt Lexi Thompson deserves a spot in the LIV Golf. They feel golfers like Thompson show why Greg Norman must think of LIV Golf Women. “She Inspires!!! The reason why we need Woman’s Liv (LIV Golf) Tour.” Lexi Thompson, meanwhile, was coming off from the Grant Thornton Invitational, where she and Rickie Fowler finished at the sixth position. The key highlight was her ace in par 3 16th at the Tiburon Golf Club. “Based on your results, I’m in 100%,” wrote one fan.
If the 2014 Kraft Nabisco Champion goes ahead with her plan, expect to see her full workout regimen on your smartphone shortly. Till then, keep checking her Instagram handle for golf-related strength training and workouts.
