There are many great Tom Cruise stories that perfectly describe his addiction to adrenaline and love for stunt work. For the new ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ film, it is already known how much he put all the ensemble cast through terrible times when they took piloting classes. In the ‘Mission: Impossible’ franchise, Tom Cruise always tries to do something groundbreaking that no other film producers have done before. In many ways, Cruise is very much like Jackie Chan, minus the martial arts.
But his interactions with female co-stars are amongst the most interesting because he does like to put them through complicated times as well. Whether it’s flying a plane or using uncomfortable costumes, Tom Cruise always has a great reaction during shooting. Emily Blunt has a good story that perfectly describes Tom Cruise’s personality and the way he can motivate his collaborators. The 39-year-old actress is set to make an appearance in a podcast called, ‘SmartLess’.

During the podcast hosted by Will Arnett, Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes, the actress revealed she still recovers from injuries she suffered during that shoot. ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ is one of Tom Cruise most critically acclaimed films. Blunt and Cruise play warriors in a time loop that are constantly attempting to save humanity after earth is attacked by aliens. This film was also Tom’s biggest box office hit until ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ came along. Emily revealed she injured her ribs and collarbone during the shoot.
But this is the story she told: “We had to wear these enormous suits, which I think would’ve been great if we had CGI’d them, but we wanted to do it in a tactile way. When you hear the word ‘tactile,’ you think that sounds nice and cozy. There was nothing cozy about these suits. It was like 85 pounds. It was so heavy. The first time I put it on I started to cry, and [Cruise] didn’t know what to do. I was like, ‘Tom, I’m not sure how I’m going to get through this shoot,’ and just started to cry. I said, ‘I’m feeling a bit panicky about the whole shoot.’ He just stared at me for a long time, not knowing what to do, and he goes, ‘Come on, stop being such a p-y, OK?'”
