With a spot to fill in the women’s WarGames match heading into Survivor Series, there were a number of theories regarding who that tenth wrestler might be. As revealed on SmackDown 24 hours before the show, it turned out to be Becky Lynch. Lucky for Bianca Belair and the rest of her team as Big Time Becks opened the show by winning the WarGames match for her team.
WWE Fans Wants Sasha
Turns out not everyone was all that happy with Lynch being the final piece of the women’s WarGames puzzle. Long after that match ended, reports started to circulate on social media that fans in-house were chanting “we want Sasha”. If you didn’t hear those chants watching along at home, there might well be a logical explanation for that.
According to Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez, fans weren’t chanting for Banks for long before the crowd mics were shut off. As for when that happened, it sounds like fans voiced their want for The Boss either during or right after the SmackDown Women’s Title match. Perhaps they were hopeful Banks would emerge to confront Ronda Rousey after she successfully defended her title against Shotzi.
Is Banks Coming Back?
There was always going to be a strong possibility Banks name was thrown around by fans at Survivor Series since the premium live event emanated from The Boss’s hometown of Boston. As for WWE quickly silencing those fans, if that is indeed what happened, that’s not a promising sign the multi-time champion is going to be back anytime soon.
Banks hasn’t been seen in WWE since she and Naomi handed over the Women’s Tag Titles and walked out prior to an episode of Raw. New champions have since been crowned, but it took a while, and there have been rumblings both Banks and Naomi might return to TV at some point in the future. Still nothing concrete for either star though, and the projects Banks has outside WWE combined with the muted chants tonight now make it seem like she might not be back soon after all.
